Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information PracticePoint ("we", "us", or "our") collects when you use our website and practice services (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: your name, email address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form, never in plain text), and phone number if you choose to add one.
  • Payment verification information: the amount, payment method, and transaction reference you submit when requesting a paid account upgrade. We do not collect or store card numbers, bank passwords, or mobile banking PINs — payments are made directly through your own bank or mobile banking app, outside of PracticePoint.
  • Telegram information: if you choose to send us a payment receipt via our Telegram bot, we receive your Telegram chat identifier and the message/image you send, solely to match your receipt to your payment request.
  • Practice activity: which questions you attempt, your written responses where applicable, and which questions you bookmark, so we can show you your own progress and saved materials.
  • Technical information: a login session cookie used to keep you signed in.

3. How We Use Information

  • To create and maintain your account and keep you signed in.
  • To verify manual payments and activate paid access.
  • To show you your practice progress, recent activity, and saved materials.
  • To notify our team internally (via Telegram) about new signups and payment requests, so we can review them promptly.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.

4. Who We Share Information With

We don't sell your personal information. We use a small number of service providers to run PracticePoint, who process information on our behalf:

  • Neon — our database hosting provider, which stores your account and practice data.
  • Telegram — used to notify our administrators of new signups and payment requests, and to optionally receive payment receipts from you.
  • Your browser's speech recognition: when you use automatic answer checking on speaking questions, your browser (for example Chrome, using Google's speech service) converts your voice to text. This happens between your browser and its provider; we receive only the resulting text.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PracticePoint, our users, or others.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep records (for example, payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.

6. Your Choices

  • You can update your name and phone number at any time from your Profile page.
  • You can change your password from your Profile page, or reset it if you've forgotten it.
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at [your support email].

7. Children's Privacy

PracticePoint is intended for people preparing for the PTE exam and is not directed at young children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we'll take appropriate action.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypting passwords and using secure connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.

10. Contact
